(No recipe today)

Construction on the kitchen continues… or, more accurately, on the area surrounding the kitchen. I can’t wait for it to be done (unfortunately, I feel I have some time until that happens). Boyfriend and I spent all yesterday after work tearing up carpet and scraping the glue off of the concrete. We’ve been waiting forever for this contractor to get back to us about installing the cabinets & pantry, so I finally went ahead and sent a couple e-mails out to other people, who are hopefully less busy. The time is counting down until my kitchen goes from just functional to unusable… :-

Those are all of our new cabinets- shells assembled and ready to go in (thanks, Josh & Jerm)… It’s almost impossible to keep BF from ripping the old ones out. I want to maintain a semi-function kitchen for as long as possible.

Bonus post today for two reasons –

1. I was for the first time featured on a 3rd party page (yay!) When I first got the e-mail from Andrew at foodbeast, I thought it was a hoax. But nope! All real, baby! I know it’s just a little blurb, but it’s pretty cool to me, so I thought I’d share! 🙂 A little shameless self-promotion never hurt anyone…

2. I made a facebook page yesterday! So if you like me, go ahead and ‘like’ my facebook too!

Next recipe coming is for my old friend Brenda, who “exchanged” an oatmeal cookie recipe with me only to be left waiting for my recipe. Probably thought I short-changed her! But don’t worry, Brenda, it’s coming up tomorrow!!! (I know you’re waiting with bated breath.)
