Happy Thursday! Here’s what you’ve missed!

ARIZONA GOT ITS FIRST SHAKE SHACK!

I found my beloved Hostess Filled-Cupcake Oreos and, spoiler alert, they taste like regular Oreos. If you haven’t purchased them yet, just save your money. Or, check out S’mores, Red Velvet, or Brownie Batter flavors instead!

In my search for the new Lays Flavor Contest chips, I have only been able to successfully locate the “Smoky Habanero” flavor which my bestie very accurately described as tasting like a “spicy BBQ chip”. So, I liked it because BBQ is one of my favorite flavors. It’s not going to have that “burn your face off” heat or vinegar-y flavor of Tapatio or any of those types of chips, though.

However, in my search for the Lays chips, I did locate two new flavors of Doritos that I had no idea existed. Both are HIGHLY recommended… If you’re a Doritos fan. if you’re not, then I don’t think we can be friends. (I’m sorry you had to find out like this.)

In the story of “things I’m always too lazy/intimidated to make: poached eggs! And Kenji puts me in my effing place by showing us how to poach like a thousand eggs at once (show off). I was actually considering trying this method of “poaching” eggs in the oven, but I’m not sure that even really counts.

If your Kitchen Aid mixer hasn’t been living up to your expectations lately (mine tends to get a wicked case of “bobble head” or “bowl-scraping” from time to time, here’s how to make some minor adjustments to help bring it back to top shape.

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if you added an extra egg to your cake, The Online Grill is here to help. There’s also an excellent explanation of how reducing your recipe’s sugar affects your baked goods from Food52.

If you haven’t seen this new clip from Batman vs Superman, you haven’t lived.

  1. YAY SHAKE SHACK! *confetti explosion*

I feel like maybe the only thing which divides us is your love for Doritos and my “meh” attitude towards them. It’s the messy fingers, really, that get me. I think.

I am SO behind on my Oreos flavor-tasting. SO BEHIND.

Listen: half the fun of poaching eggs is sitting there filled with attitude about how you’e floating a gelatinous liquid in another liquid – successfully – and then producing a round, perfectly cooked finished product. Any other way is simply not poaching because you’re missing the experience.

I have bobblehead syndrome with my Kitchenmaid all time! i need to read this ASAP.
